What makes Diddi’s drawings so perfect is one major difference from other anamorphic artists: he goes outside the page. In the hand drawing above, we’re convinced it’s actually reaching out to us and offering up a gold ring (sweet!)… but what clinches the illusion is the fact that that thumb is jumping off the side of the page. If you look really close at his drawings you can see the level of perfection and planning that went into each design – many of those elements coming off the page follow the subtle fold of the paper and reveal that they are, in fact, completely flat. You can find many more examples of Diddi’s excellent illusions over at DeviantArt.
