Tragic Scene in Denver: Firefighters Confirm South Lincoln Street Explosion


The Denver Fire Department has responded to an unsettling event on Lincoln Street tonight – a building collapse at 6:06 p.m. According to Capt. JD Chism, one individual sustained an injury in the explosion. Two dogs were found during their response, though sadly one was deceased.

Xcel Energy have shut off gas lines and power near the area, which may affect neighboring homes. The cause of the incident is yet unknown, as residents were inside at the time of the explosion. At present, no active fire is present on-site.

The Denver Fire Department urges all citizens to remain safe and alert in the vicinity of the scene, and further advises residents around the area to be aware of possible repercussions from Xcel Energy’s shutdowns.
